The most important character is Melinda, over the summer she and her friends went to a party. Melinda ended up calling the police, which made everyone at the party socially reject her. She started high school with the wrong attitude, clothes and a castaway. Soon after the first couple weeks of school, Melinda comes to realize that Andy Evans who she refers to as "it" is a senior at her school. Whenever Melinda sees "it" anywhere she immediately runs away. Whenever she comes in contact with him he antagonizes her. She's all torn up and even skips full days of school. Her parents and school becomes concerned and try helping her and finding out what's wrong but she refuses to tell them anything. Melinda soon comes to find out her ex best friend Rachel now dates "it"... She wants to let her know what really happened at that party and why she did what she did. She went to Rachel to talk to her about everything, when Melinda told her she called the cops because she was sexually assaulted and it was her current boyfriend Andy. Rachel flipped out accusing Melinda of lying. Melinda felt so much better she's gotten everything off her chest even if she's not believed. I feel Melinda's the most important character because she shows bravery, courage and responsibility from having to go through being raped, starting high school with nobody and then finally working up the nerve to tell Rachel and get it off her chest.

  1. Hey Joe, reading your story made me feel like I knew the story already. As you talked about the problem Melinda had with Andy, I felt a lot of girls go through on a daily basis. Things like rape happen to people and leave an everlasting scar and only the people involved truly go through it. Melinda looking for support in her friend was a pretty good idea but sad to say not all good ideas fall though. I feel like Rachel(Melinda's friend) should've been more understanding considering she was Melinda's bestfriend. I like your summary tho

  2. I really like the way you described everything on what happened throughout this part of the story. It sounds interesting and probably something I would read. I do have one question though, What caused Melinda and Rachael to become ex best friends? If it is not explained in this part of the story then I'm guessing it will be later. Overall good summary.

  3. This sounds like such a good book, definitely something I would look into reading. It's sad that as soon as the story starts of she's hated for calling the cops at a party but nobody knows the real reason why she does. Her being raped and being scared to tell anybody is something that is something that could be easy to relate because a lot of times things happen to people and they are scared to speak up because they may not be believed or they are scared of what people will say. When Melissa does finally tell her ex best friend the truth a weight is lifted off her shoulders and I think it shows how overtime Melissa became a stronger person. She's learning how to deal with this secret that she's been keeping even if Rachael doesn't think she's telling the truth. In the beginning of the story she probably wouldn't have told anybody about it but now she's slowly opening up about the horrible crime committed against her.

  4. This definitely sounds like a good read. The way you described the emotional struggles Melissa had to go through helped me open my eyes to realize that there could be girls lime Melissa that go to our school and until someone knows fully what someine else is going through we have to try and be there for them. It's messed up that Rachel wouldn't believe Melissa after she said she was raped. Why would she wanna make up a story like that to begin with? Overall I liked your summary and this definitely might be on my next to read list.
